TALAMANCHIPATNAM ::NANDYALA VEDIC BRAHMINS HAVE BEEN LIVING HERE AT TALAMANCHIPATNAM SINCE SOME CENTURIES. .EXCEPT Prathamasakha karnams and Shree Vaishnavites, there were no other brahmins other than the vedic brahmins of Nandyala family HERE. .. Sri Addhala Subbarayudu ,the famous philosopher and spiritual man and his brother Chinna Subbarayudu, who was a village accountant and Shri Narasimhachari family, archakas of Shri Anjaneya and Sree Venkateswara temples were very pious and helpful to the society.Shri S.Yellareddy and his brothers Narayanareddy, Ramireddy and Krishnareddy and thir sisters Eswaramma and Seshamma were guardians and used to help others in abundant measure.Sri Chandrasekharareddy, the present village Accounts officer is the son of Sri Ramireddy in Talamanchipatnam Village in Jammalmadugu Tq, Cuddapah District . The village was the headquarters of Palegar ( Representatve) in Sri Krishnadevaraya Kingdom with seven storeyed palace and fort. The rare south faced giant size idol of Anjaneya in the temple in the fort and the oldest Venkateswaraswamy temple beyond the fort are worth seeing.Sri Venkatappa and his elder brother Pedda Subbaiah were very famous and they were very rich. The youngest brother Sri Chinna Subbaiah was the village postmaster.Chinna Venkatasubbaiah, who was called as Chinnanna and his family members were very pious. This village was the headquaeters of a firka with a revenue inspector and a police station with many constables. The Police station is at the heart of the town beside the State Highway and the buses between Tadpatri and Jammalamadugu stop there. This village is at a distance of 8 miles from Jammalamadugu town. There are a few business people and merchants.Shri Nandyala Subrahmanyamayya ,SriVenkatappa Naidu and Sri Ramireddy were the great village panchayat presidents .The villagers are very GOD fearing and are not involved in any factions and rivalries .Unfortunately, the village has not developed at all even 50 years after independence, the main reason is perhaps that the villagers are very simple and self contented. It is high time that the Chandrababu Naidu Government take interest for the development of this kind of villages which do not have any development whatsoever from the Govt.It is a pity that though this village is the junction point for the passengers who want to travel by buses, no attention was paid by the rulers after independence .With individual contributions, the villagers constructed a small Shiva temple. The school has got only an elementary school and lacks a high school. It would be of great interest to notice that Shri Vaishnavism flourished in this town for some centuries in the past and the onlyfamily of Shri U.Narasimhachari shifted to Chennapatnam(CHENNAI) andsome of the people of this family are said to be in high positions in Tamilnadu.Similarly, the families of Chidhambarrao(in service) andMr Kodhandaramaiah ,who studied LAW moved to Anantapur and practised there. South Indian Telugu Vydiki Brahmins with surname as NANDYALA are found mostly in Rayalaseema districts of Cuddapah,Chittoor,Anantapur and Kurnool,Some of them are found in Karnataka and Tamilnadu. They belong to Mulakanadu subsect among Vydikis..Infact,before the reorganisation of states on the basis of language,Rayalaseema, which was lateron called as BACKward in 20th century consisted of Bellary(B),Anantapur(A),Cuddapah © and Kurnool (K) .In the word RAYALASEEMA, Rayalu denotes SREE KRISHNADEVARAYA of VIJAYANAGARA dynasty, established by Sree Harihararayalu and Bukkarayalu with the blessings of the great religious preceptor SREE VIDYARANYA, author of Vedanthapanchadasi, which is a treasure for Hindu Philosopers.Infact, the boundaries of MULAKANADU are found in the stone engravings IN a village called Vallur, near Kamalapuram in Cuddapah district.Due to the re-organisation of states, many Mulakanadu brahmins learnt Tamil and Kannada respectively and settled down in Tamilnadu and Karnataka though they speak Telugu in their houses. Our Nandyala family at Talamanchipatnam traces back to Shri Nandyala Perambotlu as per the heriditary tree available in the house. He had two sons namely Ayyambotlu and Garudambotlu.Sri Garudambotlu had no children.Sri Ayyambotlu had two sons,Subbabotlu and Venkatramabotlu. The son of Sri Venkatramabotlu was Subbabotlu and his wife was Subbamma. The son of Subbabotlu was Venkatasubbaiah and his wife was Lalithamma.Sri Subbabotlu was a scholar in Sanskrit and he COMPOSED SOME SANSKRIT ,which were appreciated by the great seer Sri Brahmanandaswamy ,when they were shown to him by Sri Venkatasubbaiah,my grandfather .The sons of Sri Venkatasubbaiah,my grandfather, who passed away in his 40s were Sri Venkatramaiah,Lakshminarasaiah(my father) and Narayanasastry.Sri Narayanasastry was given in adoption to Shri Nidhanapati Seshasastry of Tadpatri. My grandmother Lalithamma predeceased her husband. There were three sisters for my father .All of them were elder to the brothers.Subbamma, eldest was married to Yemmanuru Subrahmanyamaiah of Dadhireddipalle. They had one son by name Sankaraiah, who was a village munsiff of Madhavapuram village.Since both the parents of Sankaraiah died prematurely,Sri Sankaraiah was brought up by his maternal uncles at Talamanchipatnam.Sri Sankaraiah married Amruthamma, daughter of Subhraveti Pedda Subbaiah of Proddatur and she lived for long years and passed away in 1983 in Hyderabad .Sri Yammanuru Subrahmanyam, her only son was a school teacher in Anantapur district and however kept his family in Hyderabad for the higher education of his sons.Out of his two sons and four daughters, the eldest by name Ravi Shankar is working in the Central University and the second one Sri Sarath babu, who studied his Engineering in Mathrushri and obtained his B.E degree is working in State Government in Education Department.Lakshmamma, second sister of my father was married to Sri Rameswaraiah of Arakatavemula and she died without any children.Infact ,Smt.Visalaakshamma, second wife of Sri Rameswaraiah used to visit our house frequently when she was alive. She too had no childre.Smt.Balathripurasunadari,normally called as BALAMBA was the youngest sister. She was married to Sri Sakalya Subrahmanyamaiah of Tallamarpuram village, but lost her husband at a very early age.Dueto the premature demise of both the parents,my father and his two brothers were brought up by Smt.Sakalya Balamba ,my maternal aunty. She shared both the sorrow and poverty along with her brothers throughout her life. She lived for more than 80 years. She even moulded the children of her brothers in spiritual ways and humble living .I was one of her lucky nephews to get properly trained by her.Any amount of prayer to her is a drop of water in her ocean of compassion and love.
